As someone who played this back when it first came out and to replaying it now. It's still the best free OTOME game I've ever played. No cringe grammars and such.
As for the "siblings" route. You all should play the evermore. Rod once again sacrifice himself for them not be seen as "siblings".
When this first published all praises and all love goes to this otome. So imagine my shock when I see the comments now I guess the audience now are too "woke".
Needless to say the art the uid and + the plotline IS ALL FREE. We should be grateful to what we have.
I stopped after the beginning; feel free to point out any mistakes, but I think this work's understanding of power is far too naive.
Firstly, the MC, as the eldest princess, is somehow openly hated by the common people, and the hatred is directed at her personally with such specificity. If this were truly the case, it could only mean the MC is being used as a scapegoat (lit. 'set up as a lightning rod' - meaning pushed out front as the target/solution to problems). Ordinary people, far removed from the center of political power, couldn't possibly know precisely that a specific individual did specific things. The actions taken are key. Because only concrete actions cause change, which then attracts attention (whether for good or bad reasons).
Secondly, the author's understanding of feudal lords is overly simplistic. Driven by survival instinct, the common people would necessarily feel fear, awe, and obedience (at least superficially) towards high-ranking nobles who control their life and death. Open hatred would be suicidal. As for the 'kind' feudal lords—namely the MC's father, mother, sister, and brother—their wealth stems entirely from land monopoly and the exploitation of tenant farmers/serfs' surplus value. Is it really plausible that a feudal lord would see the lower classes as actual 'people'? Even 'merciful' actions would necessarily be motivated by the desire to maintain control. Isn't their 'kindness' depicted as far too romanticized?
Furthermore, the witch curses the MC, instantly transforming this privileged, sheltered eldest princess into a beggar to make her understand the suffering of the common people. In essence, this intention isn't flawed, but this is not an effective educational method; it's lazy and patronizing ('high and mighty'). The most obvious flaw in this kind of 'education' is that it's incredibly prone to leading people completely astray. The witch wants to teach the princess to be kind, but what she's actually teaching her has little to do with true kindness and is even twisted. The economic base determines the superstructure. Power is only accountable to its source. What good is 'correcting' one princess? Has the feudal system actually changed? The witch's entire operation, in my view, is fundamentally misdirecting the conflict. Is the nation's problem really just that the eldest princess personally lacks 'kindness'? No! It's the entire feudal relations of production, the rigid hierarchy, and land monopoly that create this systemic suffering! Correcting individual nobles is utterly futile! The development of productive forces is the fundamental force that breaks existing relations of production and drives social change!
would it not be necessary to bring evil to a halt at its roots rather than dig further than possible as somebody with a lower position? this work focuses less on rebellion and more on the perfection of a singular person, which is a common plot. maybe consume less media that could be considered otome if you're looking for a game that puts an end to tyranny lol.
You only captured the most superficial conclusion in my critique. My criticism targets the flawed thinking of using personal moral transformation to mask systemic contradictions—not a demand for the protagonist to overthrow the system. Should otome games be exempt from realistic logic? I find this problematic. Otome works can excel, embrace serious narratives, tackle grand themes, and explore vast or tender subjects. They shouldn’t confine themselves to narrow corners; even within romance, basic worldbuilding plausibility must hold.
You’ve oversimplified my argument as "demanding games change their production methods." In reality, I question how "the witch’s curse as a moral lesson distorts the real issue by attributing systemic suffering to the princess’s personal morality" and how "the author’s portrayal of feudal power defies historical logic." This has zero bearing on whether the work "ends tyranny." My stance is: personal redemption stories are valid, but don’t gloss over feudal systems with flawed logic.
tried a few times but still can't bring myself to play this VN.Lucette is not born to be bad, she's just a child under bad influence from her mother,by cursing her to do good deeds is not gonna help her to understand the importance of being nice.Annnnd,Delora is the worst character,I understand many people love her but no…I think she's evil, she knew how big a role Lucette's mother played in Lucette's rude behavior but she didn't care, she believes Lucette is helpless and always being soooo mean to her.anyway, that's just what I think, this VN is still great and worth playing
Yeah, I agree that poor MC is just a product of her mother's manipulation and her father's neglect. Also agree that Delora was quite heavy-handed in her way of helping MC, but she is really not evil. She wants what is best for MC and the kingdom. If she had not stepped in, then the kingdom would've been in an even worse shape than it was under MC's mom.
Played in the recommended order and it was beautiful. You can see so well how the story gets more complex and the endings more fulfilling each route you play... art is awesome too but one thing I am BEGGING FOR is a good route for Varg. My glorious king does not deserve the devastating finales he has in both of Fritz's endings 😓
heya, really loved the game! i'm downloading again so i can show the game for my little sister. the downloading is slow and i can't remember if i can reset the game and i think it still has my old progress. there's any way to reset, in game or not?
Now dont get me wrong this game is enjoyable and one i did waste hours on to get the achievements for cause I love achievements. But if you plan on playing it and want to go in blind. DON'T. There's some problematic stuff in this game, probably due to the time of its release since that's what was trending with otome games at the time.
So, one of the routes has an age gap. It can feel a little weird as the main character is 17 and the love interest of the route is about 23-24. It's not a terrible route but the mc is still a minor for a good part of the route until she turned 18, so you might find it uncomfortable.
Then another one of the routes has incest. Now yes it's between step-siblings but that's not really better. The love interest is your step brother and frankly I feel like it would have been better if this was just a found family route instead of a romantically inclined route. And the way it's handle is just kinda weird with them knowing they shouldn't date but do anyway, and the step sister and mom know about it and are okay with it.
I've also see people complain about one of the routes because the love intrests is trapped in the body of a child, thankfully it doesn't last long into the good route, but for the bad route it's not that far from the ending. Its due to his curse, but its still weird to think that you're trying to romace a child at the beginning until the reveal comes he's not actually a child. I thought I'd bring that up at very least.
Also one of the love interest has two personalities, and to say it was done poorly is kinda true. I've seen many people complain how it was done, since it's the thing with one side of the character is evil and the other is good. Because they don't really mesh well together, and the route really wasn't focused on said character all that much.
Now to complete the game and get all the achievements you have to get both ending of each route which essentially has you playing the routes twice, because you get a false scene of your choices mattering. If you make to many of the wrong choices you're sent down the bad route no matter what so if you don't know what choices are wrong or right it could make completing the achievements tiresome.
Now with all this said do I adore the game? Yes I enjoyed it, the game was something for me to kill time when I lost my wifi for a week, the routes are actually interesting if you ca get around some of the icky stuff that's inside of them. But once again that's probably there due to the time of this games release, cause for some reason it was just normalized to have it in games at the time.
But no if you want to give the game a try, I'd say go for it. The story is pretty interesting once you start playing. Now there is a preferred route your supposed to play it in, but I played by which character I thought was interesting so.
if anyone like me felt like playing this game according to comments : there's a weird age gap (MC is 17 and one of the LIs is 24) and there's stepcest with one the LIs who is our stepbrother in other routes and i think a less problematic thing which is a fake illusion of choices
I was planning on giving it a try but yeah.. no thanks. I know it has to do with the game's release date like i remember playing otome game with similar problematic stuff when i was a pre-teen.. Still, it's super uncomfortable because you apparently have to do each route to complete the game so yikes..
It would be completely an okay age gap if the MC wasn't a minor? Like, not everyone is going to be able to look past that and enjoy playing a game where you have to read a romance about an underage girl and a grown adult.
eh not that much, this obsession with the age 18 to consider someone an adult is more of a US thing in general , its legal to get married by 16 in some places so it really aint that weird
ngl I'm a bit surprised no one is mentioning the fact that you can commit incest with your step-brother, i feel like that should be talked about more in this comment section
The game really grows on you as you progress. I found myself enjoying it more and more, especially during Fritz and Waltz's routes. Those two stood out to me the most. While I feel like the endings could have been a bit stronger, I appreciate that they leaned into a more realistic approach, which honestly works well for the story.
That said, even in my favorite routes, it feels like there's still a lot left to unpack. I would've loved to see more development or aftermath, especially with Fritz and Waltz. Their stories had so much potential for even more emotional depth.
One thing I really appreciated was how the main character was portrayed. Her doubts, her reactions after discovering the truth, and how she took her time to process everything — it all felt very grounded and believable.
I played the routes in the recommended order, and I liked how it felt like putting puzzle pieces together. It helped everything make more sense in the end.
Now, onto Rod and Rumpel's routes... I honestly think those could’ve been better. The age gap between Rumpel and the MC made me super uncomfortable especially since she’s just turning 18. As for Rod, I personally feel like his route would’ve worked better as a familial one. Found family is such a wholesome trope, and it would've felt more natural in this case.
That’s all! Overall, a solid experience with memorable moments and emotional highs.
Somehow you get stuck with a love interest, because you picked talking to him him -once-. AFTER you had already talked to one of the other ones.
And no amount of turning how down will make him go away. >_>
This game has exactly ONE choice: Who you ask for advice the second time around.
NO other choices changes the story even the slightest. You can reject the guy as much as humanly possible after that, but you'll still end up with him.
Doesn't matter who you chose before it either.
And of course the mc sides with the people who cursed her instead of the people who'd give her back the things she actually loved. *bangs my head into the table repeatedly*
I don't know WHY I keeps hoping these type of games will ever have an mc that chooses logically instead of turning into a soft fluffy bunny who wants to spread peace and love through the world. *sigh*
Mythros is just about the only person I like in this game. And perhaps Varg.
It sucks that I can't side with them. >_>
At least the ending was somewhat good. Despite being labeled a 'bad end'
Mythros got what he wanted. ^_^ People I disliked died.
If only the mc could appreciate it.... *sigh*
-
Objectively speaking this is a good enough game storywise --if you want to play a sensible girls that turns into little goodie-two-shoe girl and falls in love with someone she keeps rejecting, and side with people she should by all logic hate. (In my opinion.)
If by some miracle the game allows you to play Mythro's route someday, I'd love to play it.
But as long as you're forced to side with the do-gooders, this game is pretty shitty in my personal opinion.
Not because the game is bad in itself, but because there is exactly zero choice in, besides which idiot you date.
:O I opened the game and quit immediately because THE MUSIC WAS SO GOOD? I had to replay it like three times- the music right at the beginning is amazing! What's the name of the song/audio? <3

Made a small mod for this game: route unlocker. As someone that played this game before I don't want to redo the other routes so I made this.
https://gofile.io/d/tkut26
Unzip and Put this in cinderella-phenonenon-1.1/game
The folder that's literally named "game", put it there. And when you get to the selection screen all routes will be unlocked

It ain't even real incest bro, come on. It is like you have never played an otome game. These tropes are very common.
