Let me just say first, I really loved the game. It's very interesting with how you laid the characters out. I loved all the eccentric characters and how they developed, I'll add more to this when i finish more of the routes but for now I only have one tiny disappointment. Rod's good ending, well I think its his good ending. It just felt so...clipped and for a good ending it felt almost sad.

Hello,

This looks like a great game, but I'm unfortunately having trouble getting it running.

It gets as far as the contract screen after the intro then just stays that way. No Progression. I've already deleated the game and re-downloaded, but that hasn't solved the problem. Any advice?

try downloading it from steam. its on free to play section

On the contract screen, you need to enter the name (or use the default if you want) and press "Enter" to proceed.

I LOVED THIS its an amazing game-

That said- I was lowkey super disappointed when Varg disappeared. Am i the only one who thought he was super attractive? Probably.

Of course i understand it goes with the game and all but VARG IS SO HOT

Thank you for playing the game! Don't worry, we love Varg too, but that is how his end is supposed to be. We'll explore more of his side in the fandisk (after story)

i am currently playing this amazing game and i have to ask is this the same company that made locked heart? i really want to know and this is really an amazing game the artwork and the story is amazing

Yes, it is.

Idon't even know where to begin on how much I enjoy the entire game, and how glad I am that it is free. I don't have much money myself, and the fact that the entire premise of the game, along with the graphics are significantly more beautiful than games I've seen people pay a pretty penny for - well, it means a lot to me.

Admittedly, even though it was recommended to play in the order of Rod - Karma - Rumpel - Fritz - Waltz, I didn't like Rod's attitude at the beginning and immediately went for Karma. (I ended up loving Rod's route when I played it, and the bad ending still breaks my heart to this day.) I must say, I still love Waltz route the absolute most, but Rumpel and Karma's routes made me laugh the most. I wish I saw more of Mr Broom, because it added a light, happy, and comedic tone to the entire game, especially how Mr Broom's emotions are displayed. He is very cute indeed, and you guys really did go through the effort to insert little gags, or side characters that are very, very easy to love. I appreciate the game all the more, because your efforts don't go unnoticed.

For Karma, I can't emphasize how much I love his route and him as a character. I was surprise when I read the walkthrough and saw some answers for the good ending, considering that most otome games always require the heroine to agree, nod, be submissive - or they will have blatant answers that shows what the player should pick. This isn't the case for Cinderella Phenomenon. That is absolutely lovely, and it makes me keep wanting to play. Karma is a fascinating character - all of them are - , and I just love all the comedic or overall happy scenes Lucette has with him.

Initially - I'll admit - I didn't like Rod as much. I think what I liked the most about Rod was the fact that he has the most adorable plush bunny I've ever seen in my entire life - Sebby - happily perched on his shoulder. His interactions with Sebby make me laugh as well, and him and Lucette does seem like two of a kind. Rod's ... curse is interesting, to say the least, and his bad ending just shatters me, especially his last line. I just love Sebby. I don't think words can describe how /cute/ Sebby is. Rod's curse, coupled with the history behind his curse is relatively devastating.

I'm pleasantly surprised with Rumpel's route. For me, Karma's route is actually the most light-hearted (ignoring his bad ending, since that made me stare at my screen in outrage and shock, and then immediately trying to replay the game). However, Rumpel's route is the funniest, and it cracks so many smiles on my face, it's wonderful. What I enjoy about Rumpel the most is his unexpected seriousness or kindness that surprised Lucette when she finds out about the other side of him. What I love the most is the cause of his curse - and how Rumpel is tactful enough to know when and when not to keep his head down. Rumpel's route did offer something special; instead of helping Lucette to care about others, he actually showered Lucette with a lot of love until she's ready to step out and care for others as well, under his encouragement. His approach to Lucette is very different from everyone else's (to be fair, all their approaches are different), but something that deeply touched me.

As for Fritz, well. His route is the most devastating, but he strikes me as the 'childhood sweetheart' kind of troupe, where he happily sticks by Lucette's side until she's ready to step out and thaw as the ice princess. I deeply appreciate his kindness, though, his good ending is really tugs the most at my heart-strings. He really remained as her knight, loyal through the end, and I think Fritz's curse is the most surprising. Of course, his curse can be guessed, but then I originally thought it was more of a Jekyll & Hyde curse than what it really was. Fritz is really a very sweet character, and I think his hair and eye color is one of the best combination I've seen- white and gold. Very beautiful.

Finally, Waltz. I'm not sure where to begin. I actually guessed Fritz's curse in earlier routes, even without playing his route - at least, I had an inkling, but for Waltz, I actually had to finish Fritz's route before I realized something was off. I actually had a theory about Waltz before I played his route - that Waltz loves Lucette through every single one of the routes, and what tipped me off was one of the scenes in Fritz's route ( that I'm not sure if I can mention, since I'm not sure if spoilers are allowed...? ). I was actually wondering about Waltz in the beginning, when he first approached Lucette as a street performer - and when I finished all his route and all the pieces fell into place - dear lord, I don't think I've love a game this much before.

Aside from all the main characters, I must say, I love all the side characters as well. Delora, despite her cutting sacarsm and her blunt remarks, acted like a maternal figure to Lucette, and her concern for Lucette is really transparent. Garlan and Jurien's relationship is beautiful, and I love their character design. Annice is a wonderful contributing character, and you covered the villains wonderfully as well.

One thing I really love the most is the main character - Lucette. Lucette strikes me, specifically because she's so different from the typical "kind and submissive" female main character trope that is usually scene in otome games. Lucette has her own flaws, her own issues to work on, and most important, Lucette has stubborn demeanor, which fights instead of fleeing behind everyone. None of the male characters are overly dominant and verbally abusive, which is something I deeply appreciate, since those tropes are overly done and does not portray a healthy relationship whatsoever. Literally all of the males have kindness and they are willing to help Lucette with their own unique ways, and I think that is the most touching aspect of the game. All of the males patiently help Lucette thaw her ice princess demeanor, and so does all the side characters, especially Annice, Parfait, Delora, Garlan, and Jurien. The music is completely and utterly amazing. I keep having the game play in the background because I love the music so much, and you guys really made all the best choices in your writing, art, music, plot- I can't emphasize how well executed this entire game is.

Graphics is one of the most important aspect of a game - I can't fully enjoy a game without good music and art, and oh wow, this game is just astounding in both fields. All the character designs are very unique (I love Lucette's character design very much). I think this game is lovely, no amount of words can describe how well-thoughtout the entire premise is- and really, well done. I look forward to all your future projects, and I sincerely hope that you will continue making games for a long time.

Also- just one last question, out of curiosity, is there any way I can fund you guys and/or buy the fan disk for cinderella phenomenon? I took a look through the site, but I can't exactly find a way --

(Thank you for reading through this huge jumble of text. I'm not a native english speaker, so I hope my sentences are comprehensible.)

Wow. First of all, your detailed comments really made our day! Thank you so, so much for taking the time to write your thoughts about the game. We're glad that you enjoyed playing it.

Right now, we can only accept donations through this site. As for the fandisk, we're working on it now. We'll keep everyone updated on our tumblr. :)

I've only played once (Rod, bad ending), and I'm ready to play again. I enjoyed the graphics and the music, but it was really the story that was most engaging. One of the best VNs ever. The only thing I didn't love was the faceless minor characters. I get why they were done that way, but it still lessened the immersion for me. Just a minor nitpick for a great game.

So much replayability. I've chosen a different path, and it's like a completely different story. I didn't expect so much depth to Karma's story. Sir Alcaster is kind of hot!

Fabulous game! Really enjoyed it!

Rod, Karma and Waltz were my favourites.

Thanks so much for creating it.

OH my GOODNESS GRACIOUS, THIS GAME IS BUTTERY DELICIOUS! I love this game so much, its not like any other Visual Novel I have played before (And I have played hundreds of them over the years). I manage to finsh whole routes within a mater of days ( One per day) and I do not regret the lack of sleep or food becuase of it. The routes are so unique and they draw you in, making you feel like a little girl in love or feel so bad for some characters. The whole entire idea of this game is out of this world! Who would have ever thought of a storyline like this! Truly marvelous game you guys have created, Im so happy I have stumbled upon it just a few days ago!! Keep up the spectacular work!!!

I'm sorry for my stupidity, but is this game free? Some people told me that it really is free, but I prefer to ask directly.

The plot and the art are both incredibile, I literally have no words to describe them. :)

Yes it's free to play. :)

I feel a little silly going into the depths of Rod's route, but there were a few things I was curious about, especially in light of the fandisk (which I can't wait for! :3).

-It was ironic to me that Rod, being a good cook and the son of a baker, had the only route where a treat isn't given to the princess (really! Karma buys her a cupcake, Rumpel gives her a chocolate, Waltz buys her a candied apple, and even Fritz buys her some croissants). I almost forgave this in light of him cooking a breakfast for the princess in a different route, but it would be nice to see him do more of that sort of thing.

-The princess states from the beginning that she never saw Rod as being as annoying as Emelaigne, but given their spark of rivalry in Rod's route, I had to wonder if she never felt threatened by him. Where Emelagine seems to have trouble catching up to the princess in terms of etiquette and such, Rod seems fit almost too easily into the role of a prince. You know what they say about the quiet ones. At any rate, it'd be really fun to see more rivalry between them.

-What was Rod before he was a prince? We never learn much about his past outside his former love. Was he a baker? A student? A pupil to some other merchant? Did he always have a princely mien, or has he had to struggle like Emelaigne to learn how to behave like royalty? Did his family do well for itself, or was he expected to help support them? How did he feel about his own father dying?

-Fencing! He has fencing lessons, but never seems to have a sword on hand like the king does. If he's had training for months (or possibly a year or more), is he any good with a sword? Is there a reason he wouldn't carry one around when outside the palace?

-I was a little sad there isn't more dialogue between Rod and the king. The princess said that the king treated Rod better than her, but we unfortunately don't get to see much, if any dialogue between the king and his step-son. Did they have a good relationship? Did Rod have any expectations similar to Emelaigne's thrust on him?

-The princess mentions getting flustered by Rod's voice in the end. :3 Are we going to be seeing more of the effect of his voice in the fandisk?

I apologize for the load of questions, but my curiosity has been awakened in full force (the result of having played the amazing game that is CP, by the way).

This is one of my all time faves ! I love the story for each character the sound is perfect and the art is beautiful thanks so much for making this game !

Hello! I made an account just to tell you this VN is really good, And can I ask one thing? Is there anyway I can pay from over here in Japan without a Credit Card or Paypal? I can only use WebMoney and other Cards you can buy on Convenience Stores :( I really do think this game is worth the money and I'm would love to support as much as I can, but I don't know how to cause of my situation :( but really thank you for making this a free game! I love it so much >3<

Hello there! First of all, thank you so much for playing Cinderella Phenomenon. We're glad that you liked it. As for the mode of payment, we're not really sure if itch.io accepts other modes of payment besides credit cards and paypal so we're not sure how to be of help with this one. We're glad that you wanted to donate though. Thank you so much!

I am so happy I stumbled over your project on a friends tumblr site, so I just wanted to leave you some thoughts and happyness and some of my money, when I figure out how Paypal works here ;) until I throw myself back to your gem of a game. <3

I only played the routes from Rumpel, Karma and Fritz so far & just found your gameplay note on Steam which hinted that I should have started with Rod and I hope it's not too late to enjoy his route until I get to the last one. I thought it might be ok to follow the route in which the boys are shown ingame. That was a little perplexing.

First of all: I loved Rumpels route!

It was the first I played and from his looks I did expect him to be ... well not such a big flirt, I guess, but I'm so glad I gave him a chance - he made me laugh so much! And it was a nice surprise when I came to that scene where he carries us back to our room. Until then I wasn't sure what to think about him, in terms of a relationship. But then it all came down nicely. Even when I had the bad ending - I tried again with the indicator and I really didn't do that much of 'wrong' choices the first time (surely not up to 10) so I was a little baffled with that. Some of the choices seem much alike, and 'feel' very alike. It's cool you have the indicator ingame, but it would be great if a player could figure out on her own if she liked the reaction she caused or not. Some were very subtle (the first choice, where he calls you 'feisty' but nothing besides that line is diffrent; or the moment when he calls you clever because you would stab someone in the right place - I didn't think that knowledge would make him love me more to be honest xD ) or not there at all (the whole scene with Bria, when you choose to interrupt them or not, it makes absolutely no diffrence). But this is only me, and I did have fun exploring the route. I was only sad when the ending was so... yeah sad. But in a good way, you really made me feel I didn't want to loose him.

So from what I saw of the game everything was really well written and I loved the concept behind his story. Especially how you showed the concept of love (which you picked up in Karmas Route, too) which is not as easy as it looks. And then the concept of selflove, to spoil yourself from time to time - that was a very nice moral you hid there. And meeting Bria, and to deal with her was really amazing. It added a really nice touch to the story and felt very realistic. I like it, when you can learn to understand a characters motives if you just try to do that. Your game is very rewarding, if it comes to that.

And I do love him, Rumpel, as a character. Most because of those moments like when he's eavesdropping - seconds after our heroine did the same thing. I could connect to him and his problems very well, I had a much harder time doing that with Fritz and Karma. Maybe because they do have a habit of making themselves scarce.

As a last thing to say for now, maybe I just pick Rumpel over the others, because he had the only 'solid' name. Actually I did choose him for the first route because of that. :D The only thing I think you could do better imho are the very big names of some of the noble characters - I wonder if you could remember them yourself without taking a note. ;) But you gave all of them nice nicknames, so it's ok I guess. ;)

Thank you for this gem of a game! You have a really great Team and I look forward to anything you'll want to share with us in the days to come.

I was so excited to play the game but when I extracted it,it said there is corrupt file.. :( Is there any solution?

It's probably because the download was incomplete, so our suggestion is for you to try downloading it again. :)

I downloaded it again and it worked! thank you :) its an amazing game ^__^

I am so excited to play this game! I played the demo earlier this year, and was amazed about the quality of both the story and the art! You guys have obviously put a lot of effort here, and I'll be happy to contribute a little :)! Keep up the good work!

Amazing and lovely! I am so glad that you guys made this XD I love all the characters equally but I had so much fun with Rumpel! Karma's story and curse had a surprisingly tragic twist to it that just hit it all the way home!

By way, does anyone know what the "Guided by Intuition" achievement is for?

Hello there! We're glad that you enjoyed Rumpel's route since most people felt his route was lacking. So thank you!

As for that achievement, you need to get a good end without using the right choice indicator. So turn it off before you start a new game. :)

It seems that most people don't like Rumpel's personality much because they expect a cool and practical guy because of his glasses. I honestly found his personality and ideals adorable and admirable, even though I agree that his constant flirting and flattery can get annoying. Surprisingly, a lot of the choices to Rumpel's reaction was what I would have reacted like in real life! lol

Oh, so that's what "Guided by Intuition" is about! Thanks ^^

I love this game. But the bad endings- you know how to get us right in the feels. Amazing game. Thank you!

i love your game it so fun playing it i was so sad when rod died but can you do the character have chlid and make us make the choies it like cinderella so plz do it for me :D i hope you have a great time

After playing through this whole game I have to say my favorite character is Mr. Broom

Same here. xD

I have to say that this game. is. AMAZING!!!

I love how some things work in their own way to have a bad or a happy ending. I love all the characters in this game and honestly I like Rod's and Waltz's route! I wish you could make a Cinderella Phenomenon 2 but I know it can not be possible without a reason. But I do enjoy the game, more then my heart can handle. <3 <3 <3

Hello! We're glad that you enjoyed the game. Thank you!

We're actually going to work on a CP fandisk which is an afterstory for all the routes. Not exactly a part 2 but more of an epilogue of each story. It will be released commercially this time. ;)

This might be more of questions than comments, but I hope you don't mind.

First of all, thank you for such a lovely VN!

I like Rod. Can I ask which character did you enjoy creating the most and why?

Is there actually the 'true' route? Seems Waltz's is the one...?

And most importantly, I fall in love with Rod's good ending's bgm (titled 'piano'), is it your original bgm? or from download source? If so, may I know the source?

Looking forwards for your next games and to support them!!^^

Hello there! Thank you for playing CP!

As for your questions:

>We enjoyed creating each character so it's very difficult to answer that. ;)

> Yes, Waltz is the true route.

> All the bgm for CP are royalty free music from various sites. We cannot say where though since we've changed the filenames as well, that's why we added the music room instead if anyone's interested in listening to them. :)

Okay I have a problem. The game will not work for some reason .This is the first time I'm using this site , I'm might just not know how to download these things. Help?

Hello there. Are you sure that you've downloaded the full game? Because it's possible that you weren't able to finish the download. We suggest you to try downloading it again. :)

As all the other commenters have echoed, this game is amazing!! The fact that it is free is an even greater surprise! Please, if you enjoyed this game, please tip the creators! This was an amazing well-written story and beautifully crafted. It's easily worth the $20+ you would normally pay for a full visual novel game.

This game is just beautifully crafted. I can't believe it's free for its quality. Honestly, this is one of the best visual novel-types I've ever encountered, even rivalling ones from large companies. The story's amazing, the characters amusing and the protagonist just unique. It's a fresh perspective. I hope I'll see more like this in the future! <3

P.S. If dating sims are gonna be your forte, I commend you for the clever name.

After 3 days I finished your game, I am still astonished that you released it for free but am very glad you did or I would have missed out on it.

I have always been drawn to fairy tales and fables and have played MANY games based on them, when I first heard of this game while you were still working on it I said to myself "This is bound to be one of my most favorite games." I still can't get over how much fun I had and it is definitely in my top 3 VNs (No joke, you are up there with Amnesia:Memories).

Waltz's route is my absolute favorite and is closely followed by Karma's and then Rumpel's. I'll be honest, I hated Karma and Delora at first but grew to like them and I felt at one point Delora became a second mother to my character (Which really had me crying at some key points)

I also have to say that I am VERY glad that thought was put into the routes to actually make the outcomes and story arcs different, I have played too many games where there are barely any differences in whose route you chose and it becomes a cookie cutter type game where the same thing happens over and over.

I can't believe I didn't even mention the graphics or music yet, so amazing! Not many free games put so much effort into making a product so beautiful, THANK YOU!

First when i saw this I was like "it can't be that good, but I'll play the DEMO anyway."

Then I was like "Hold on there, it's not good, it's AMAZING!"

Really cool game, loved all the characters and the drama! It was completely mind blowing and amazing. Now this game is even more amazing but... wow ... you guys just blew me away with this...
